Default Had a wreck today..(long)

Fortunately I wasn't hurt. I had just left my moms with the last few boxes from my move. I stopped at the gas station down the road because the boxes were shifting in the wind. It started to drizzle so I decided to try to get home before the sky really opened up. I wasn't speeding, but about 2 miles down the road as I was coming out of a medium size curve the back end came around on me. It had just started raining the big drops, so I guess I hit a puddle of water or something. I hung on for the ride (not something I'd recommend). When the back end came around I started heading for the ditch (very shallow one). I must have hit with the back end then slid until the passenger side hit a 4" diameter tree (not standing anymore), this spun me a couple of more times until I ended up facing the direction I had come in the ditch. I think the only things with no damage was the front/rear bumpers, the hood, roof, and driver's side front fender. Thankfully no other cars were in the vicinity and it was only me involved. Oh well, the truck was going in to get a roll pan welded on, cowl hood, corvette door handles, front bumper cover, flipped tailgate handle. So it isn't a total loss as it was gonna cost $5000 for the new paint job and labor for all the work. Now the insurance can pay for it.

Sorry to hear about the truck!
I hate it when it rains and I have to drive in it. Our tails are so light and with just a little bit of power spinning is hard to avoid.

I know what it's like to loose control in the rain.

Glad to see that your ok and that no one else was hurt!!

What kind of tires did you have on?

Accidents happen. now you can do all of your body mods to your truck, and take the $$$you were going to spend on the paint originaly, and find a reason to add a blower.

Hate to hear of your damage, glad no injury. I have had mine wrecked twice already by people running into me and neither fix has been up to par. They just aren't the same after being banged . I am learning to get over it though, seems like in the long run things work out. Hope the changes go well, post pics when done.

Well the good thing is that your ok.

Good way to look at the accident.

Its time to build it back stronger, faster, better.

Good luck

In the rain I just throw a 100lb hardened concrete bag in the bed against the tailgate. It doesnt slide around and helps a ton with traction and cornering.
