If I remember correctly, an x-pipe gives you more low end power.

i was told that the H-pipe gives more torque and the x-pipe gives more horsepower but could be wrong

From what I've heard, the X-pipe makes an LSX engine sound more 'exotic' whereas the H is more traditional V8-ey. I was looking into getting one fabbed in after the cats and doing true duals. I'm thinking two LM's and side exit.

hmmm...that sounds familiar too. Now I am confused. I'll see if I can dig up the info again.

both equalize exhaust pulses, but the x pipe gives more under the curve grunt. atleast thats what ive been told

i never understood the point of using a x pipe on true duel because it all has to go back through a 3" hole in the X...it kinda defeats the purpose right?

Here is what I found on another forum:

h is usually deeper and louder at idle, makes a lil more tq but less hp
x is usually not as deep but louder at wot, more hp but less tq than h

^^ just the basic generalization, but many times its been shown that theirs really no difference hardly noticable in either one save for maybe the sound.

and...

I can tell you from personal experience that an H-pipe is deeper sounding than an X-pipe. I have switched between the 2 twice on my car and the X-pipe is noticeably raspier than the H-pipe, and the H-pipe sounds much better with chambered mufflers, so if you want Flowmasters or MAC mufflers, get an H-pipe. As far as power differences I have seen articles that prove there is no real difference in power between the 2 even though some people claim otherwise. I recommend you buy for sound because the power difference, if there is any, is negligible.
