Default Guys PLEASE READ I NEED HELP!

Hi Guys!

I Bought a 2002 Stepside in Feb and Traded it back in on a Z71 Fleetside two weeks ago. Some of you probably remember me posting picture of it smoking.

It would puff some dark and Light Blue smoke if you let it idle for 15 minutes and quickly tap the gas!

This brand new truck I just bought 1 1/2 weeks ago, now with only 800 miles on it, will do the same thing if you let it sit and idle 15 minutes and quickly tap the gas. It will puff a few puffs of dark blue or light blue smoke!

I find it hard to believe that two trucks would do the same thing.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ASK OF YOU ALL IS TO LET YOUR TRUCKS IDLE 15 MINUTES AND SEE IF YOU GET THE SAME RESULTS!

Please let me know!

Thanks Lee in West Virginia!!!!!

Thats pretty damn crazy. I have a 01 5.3 scsbgmc1500with 7k mile iwth an s/c, and a 01 Yukon with the 5.3. I have noticed a considerable about of piston slap after long idle on the yuokn, and that bone stock. My friend is a tech for gm, and he printed up a bulliten they get about recalls andproblems with these trucks, and what they do to fix them. Its to damn long to either scan or post, but I can tell you that GM is aware of these problems, and they are addressing them on an as needed basis. It sounds like the rings have set properly, how did you break the motor in, di you go easy on it, or did you beat the **** out of it?

Damn! That is terrible man. Two new trucks that do that now . My truck is a 99 5.3L and it does nothing like that. Have you removed the catalytic (sp?) converters? It will run rich if you have and that smoke is -unburned fuel (just a guess). This whole piston slap thing is making me extremely upset with GM products. Yes, they are the best designed pushrod engines in the world. Now why can't they build them right !! I feel bad for you guys who work so hard for a nice truck only to be repayed with a poor product.

Well the other truck I traded in I ran the **** out of it.

So this time I on the last truck I have just ran Various speeds nothing any harder than 4k because I thought maybe this was what had caused the other truck to do what it did.

Thanks Lee!

If you just ease down on the gas pedal it wont do it you have to give it a quick tap.

I just give it a quick tap and the engine just revs to 1500rpms and this is when it does it.
Do you think it could be fuel.

Can you ask your friend if he thinks it might be fuel because that is what the dealer is saying!

Thanks Lee in West Virginia!!!!
