Question Gutting Cats?

hey guys i know this question has probably been asked hundreds of times but im new to this truck scene ive always owned mustangs before this so dont kill me.

anyway ive got a 04 silverado 5.3 and i have a flowmaster catback, on my truck but i want louder. i was thinking of gutting my cats but how hard is it to do on these trucks? can i do it myself and if so whats the best way? what do u guys recommend?

also ive seen a few posts about the dynomax bullets if i ditched my flowmaster for 2 of these would that make it alot louder than it is now to save the hassle of gutting the cats?

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

Jon

Just unbolt the y-pipe. There are 3 bolts at each collector and 2 bolts where the 2pipes merge into one. Use a hammer and long screw driver or pipe and gut the cats. Then bolt the y-pipe into place. Should take about 2-3 hours.
