I gutted mine out. I lost alot of lowend. I used to just tap on the brake and tires would just let loose and now I powerbrake and I can barely get them to spin and I have 4:10 gears! I did gain on topend though hits the rev limiter easy in 1st and chirps most of the time going into 2nd.

It is alot louder. I have 2000 GMC RCSB 5.3 with 3" pipe going into a 3" ultraflow bullet muffler and y-pipe off to duals out the back with magnaflow 3" quad tips. Its got a really loud crackle between 2000-2600rpm.

If it were me, I'd try putting in a X-pipe to try to give me back a little bit of my back pressure and maybe help with the sound.

I took mine out and had spools made to replace them with so I could take them in and out. IMO, it didn't change the sound. It sounded like ***, and that was with AS&M's, true duals, Magnaflow X pipe, 2 Magnaflow 1in/1out muffs, etc... They were back in 2 weeks after I took them out. BTW, I can't imagine anyone getting anymore power without of them, since you could see right through them when they were out. Just a couple of small screens similar to the screen in the MAF.
