Default Guess what,it's another motor swap thread

but this is a bit different than the 5.3 to 6.0 swap thread.

My dads 02 Sierra 5.3L is coming apart. He's been searching locally for another 5.3. He will not go with the 6.0. I've even offered the one I have to him that is sitting in his body shop but he only wants another 5.3.

He has found a wrecked 2000 5.3 with 3100 miles on it however it has been sitting for 10 years at another body shop. Assuming that they can get it cranked and running with no problems, he may get that one.

I believe that there weren't any major changes to the LM7 from 1999-2007. Is that correct?

Along the same lines, would a flex-fuel 5.3 be a substitute without the flexfuel crap? Or are those motors unique only to themselves and cannot be used in another application.

Thank you.

Anyone know if the 2000 5.3L is different from the 02 5.3's? I know the early LQ4's had a longer crank.

And about the flex-fuel vs regular fuel. Bueller?
