Default gripy tire?

i am going to try some shorter/wider tires, i think there is some ET to be had there. anyone have any oponions on wich street tires have the best grip or ones to stay away from.

looking at something like a 275/60/16 or so, lots of manufactures seem to make that size.

How bout a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero's
there P285/65R-16 should be ok for traction a little wider than the stockers
they should provide some more traction i think
mm tread wear is a 420 though ..
theres also Bridgestones dueler Hp's 285/70/16
the treadwear is a 300 softer for sure
Haven't heard of anyone buy them though

I have a set of Toyo Proxes S/T 275/60/16 running on a set of stock rims. They look a little bit funny on a Z71 but they get great traction and handle really well. All in all I have been really happy with them.

i heard from someone that they are discontinuing the scorpion zeros but for right now they are my first choice, i need to find a toyo to look at, i have no idea what they look like.

call me crazy but i am going to lower the truck a little so the shorter tires will look fine. looking for a street truck tire, not an offroad tire.

so what about the yokahama's or goodyears or bfg's

edit... just looked up the toyo's they are prety cool looking, only prob i see it that they are rated for a 8.5-10" rim, i have 7" i think, that is quite a ways off from what they recomend. the pirelli's of the same size are rated for a 7.5-9.5" rim, so i would be prety close with those.

I use Pirelli 255/65/16 scorpion S/T tires. They ride well give great traction wet or dry and they are 29.1 inches in diameter.

How good do the 275/60 fit on the factory wheel? Do they leak air or anything from being too wide? Do they rub the sway bar when turning sharp? I might get some of these...

I've heard great things about the kumho's. a friend of mine with a WS6 loves them.

As for the Proxes, i had a friend with them on a 16" rim and he hated them. They would not grip at all which made his take off horrible. Another friend of mine had the same on 20's and he also hated them.

As for me i have bridgestone Dueler H/P's 285/50R18 and they are great. No complaints but i am not sure if they make them in a 16. might want to check on it.
