The cheap dorman head clamp kit would probably fix the leak, but sounds like you just want an excuse to mod it which isnt frowned upon here, and a good wife excuse..

didn’t know that was a thing. I’ll give it a try to get me by until I can get the headers. Thanks!

Great video.

That sent me on a large tangent, watching his other cam videos, found out about that Cadillac blower that could be had for cheap with adapters available, which aren't actually available now, and the blowers seeming to be "sold out" for the most part anyway. It was like another LSA story but much shorter lived.

put the clamp on today thanks! It was a pain and the heat shield no longer fits so it’s temporary but got rid of the noise for now

Everything I've seen says 10:1 is about the max compression you can run on 87. All those heads would take me over that compression especially the 706 ones.

I do not agree with that statement at all. You would be fine with going those heads and getting above 10 compression mixed with 87 octane. It is recommended to run premium on such high compressions like 10.5 or whatever but not required. Considering you are building this in a 3500 I would really be shooting for compression, the tune is really going to be the determining factor in fuel.

no problem, i almost didnt post about it as you seemed dead set on taking the heads off. its not the “correct” fix, but not everyone needs stuff to look perfect they just need things fixed to keep things rolling.
