got the yank 3200 in
#1
yep, got it put in today by steve frank. install went good, nice, quick, and cheap (150bucks heh). took about 3 or 4 hours to do the whole thing.
initial impressions are that its alot better than it was, but still not enough to really get this pig moving. i will find out more when i go to the track or race someone who i have raced before. but till then cant really tell.
as for the stall on it, i am sure the 3200 is rated at the 5.3L torque because with the 4.8 it would start spinning the tires at 26-28 and from a 5 punch would jump to about 26 or 2700. obviously alot better than jumping to a whopping 1600 though lol.
driveability is pretty much no change. i dont even realize its there unless im moving back in reverse (even still barely noticable) or if i stomp on it off the line

Good deal, $150 bucks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
That sounds just like the 3200 stall converter I had in my '00 SS. Noticeable but, not enough. It got tossed for a nice 3800 stall soon after being installed. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Just go ahead and upgrade it. Do you really need to haul anything with your truck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Just messin around.
Have fun

Glad you like it, now I'll have to forget the tow rating and get a 3500 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I wanna see some new ETs with the TC. I am very curious if these trucks do as well as the F-bodies do with a good TC. I would love to be in the 14s with just a TC change on a basically stock Z71. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

yah, i dont think it will be any astronomical gains from it. but still lots better than stock. if i was gonna do it again and i was gonna buy a new one i personally would buy a vig 3500 like ox has.
will get track times at the july truck meet but probably not till then. unless i get really bored...
