Default got some new dyno numbers.

before, stock 6.0 with upd

na closed 269hp at 5000rpm
na open(cat back pulled) 284hp at 5000rpm
150 shot closed 375hp at 4800rpm
150 open 381hp at 5100rpm(a little lean and a little knock retard)

now i have a cam that is too big for my current set up, 234/232 59x/59x 115, also no cats, slightly more compresion, stock manifolds and cat back.

made 5 runs

na closed 295hp at 6200rpm
na open 324hp at 6200rpm
65 shot wet open 381hp at 6200rpm
65wet/75dry open 431hp at 6200rpm
125wet open 432hp at 6200rpm

this was on a mustang, made over 400hp from 5000 to 6800rpm on that last run, this is a prety big cam, this cam was down about 50ft/lbs na at 2500rpm and didn't catch up with the last dyno till about 4600rpm.

i am shifting at 6800 and falling back to about 4700 so i am good there but it takes me 2 days to get over 4000rpm in 1st so overall i am slower than before. this tighter stall that i got is not helping me at all right now but eventualy it might be ideal.

i didn't have them print up any charts but i did get all of the runs saved on disk as text files figuring i could make up my own charts and do anything i wanted with them, now i can't figure out how to make a chart that looks right, not as easy as i had hoped. anyone ever try anything like that?

Very nice!

So taking off the stock catback made that much power or was this an aftermarket catback? Really curious because my catback is stock but with a muffler welded on and I wonder if it is hurting me with my new cam.

I can't wait to see what you do with longtubes!

this was a stock catback that came with the 4.8, i am sure it is more restrictive than what most people have.

no longtubes, single T76

Maybe try to do a chart or graph in Powerpoint or maybe Excel?

Interesting info on running open exhaust. How was the torque?

Keep up the good work!!!

na closed 269hp at 5000rpm, 306tq at 4000rpm
na open(cat back pulled) 284hp at 5000rpm, 320tq at 4000rpm
150 shot closed 375hp at 4800rpm, 450tq at 4500rpm
150 open 381hp at 5100rpm(a little lean and a little knock retard), 450tq at 4000rpm

na closed 295hp at 6200rpm, 300tq at 4700rpm
na open 324hp at 6200rpm, 315tq at 4800rpm
65 shot wet open 381hp at 6200rpm, 408tq at 4300rpm
65wet/75dry open 431hp at 6200rpm, 448 at 4000rpm
125wet open 432hp at 6200rpm, 463tq at 4200rpm

hmm, interesting, lost a little NA, maybe picked up a hair on the juice. I NEED A TURBO!!

Parish,it sounds like you are so ready to install the turbo, that you are looking for things to change on the truck to keep your mind off it.When is the turbo supposed to be there? Are you going to spray both wet and dry with the turbo or do you think the dry spray will max your MAF?

Wow, 6800 rpms. I bet it does take forever to get up that high. I bet it feels like a centrifugal supercharger - a power drain until it starts building boost, then it takes off in the upper rpms.

I agree with the excel chart idea. Just put your data in adjacent cells, select them, and tell it to create a chart. You can then pick the format.

I think I'm going to have to get me a dyno. I'd like to know where I stand.

Good numbers Parish .. Are you stopping at 6200 or is that just where it peaks?

I'm with Bigtex .. I wanna know what I got going on too. When I go down to San Antonio for the job fair down there, I'm gonna get tuned by Allen and see if I can get on his dyno.

I want to step up a little with the cam, but I think until I can at least get some ARP rod bolts I better stick with what I got. Shifting at 6300 with 7psi is prolly pushing it enough. Wonder whats gonna happen with more boost?

i take it to 6800 everytime i shift, it doesn't seem to mind. it is kind of fun watching the tach hit 6k and then just set there for awhile.
