Default Got a question on stock guage cluster wiring.

Ok, I think I'm correct on that these trucks come wired with the tranny temp capabilities, only most didn't come with the guage, right? If that's correct, does anyone know which wire it is that goes into the cluster to get the signal? I'm about to order my digital tranny temp gauge and fuel pressure guages, as well as my a-pillar to go with my digital tach, and I just need to know what wire it is that goes into the cluster, so I can just splice into it to save me a little hassle. Thanks.

i don't know what wire it is, but, you will be wasting your time with it if the sender in the stock tranny is not going to send the right resistance range to your new guage. get an escalade dash and be done with it or you will probably need to use the sender that comes with the guage. i have a somewhat similar problem in that the TH-400 that i have obviously has no sender in it and i want to make it work with the escalade dash i have. so, if you find out what the resistance range is with the stocker, i am definately interested.

I'm going to email the company that makes the gauge and check on the resistance. I also need to find out the stock resistance range. The white wire I spliced into for my digital tach must have been right, because the tach is right on. I also sent a private message to 01thunder, because I saw that he installed an aftermarket tranny temp gauge, and I want to see if he used the aftermarket sender. I'll keep this topic updated.
