I pulled a tune from an 01' Z-28 with a 229/229 112 and coppied/pasted it into mine, and wow what a difference it made. It pulls harder than ever now. So hard it starts hurting your neck after a few runs.
Anyway, for those who dont remember my Z it had a M6, TR-224, ORY, LM, Whisper Lid, and a few more bolt-ons. My best run with it was 12.1@110. The guy i sold it to is a friend and today i decided it was time to line them up.
First run was from a 20 punch.(neither of us can get traction off the line)
I spun hard and he jumped on me about a car length, but from there to 95mph the gap stayed the same.
Next run was a 30 punch. We both spun for 15-20 feet and were off. That time we kept in it for awhile and stayed side by side. Neither of us could pull any.
I know its not a win, but its not a loss either. I mostly figured i would loose, but stayin side by side with a low 12 second car isnt bad. Its a little better than i thought it would do.
I know I'm well into the 12's all motor now. All i need is some ET Streets and take a trip to Epping.

So you copied and pasted a tune from a 5.7 with boltons to your 5.3 with cam etc?? And it worked well
. Who did the tune on the Z28? Thats awesome that it worked for you. How is the drivability?

No, the Z28 had a 229/229 112 cam, bolt ons, and a 3500 stall. Very simular to what i have. I only copied the fuel, idle, and timing stuff for my truck. I looken in the HPT bin and there werent any trucks running crazy cams so i just went with a car tune. Drivability has gotten so much better now. I still have issues at times with it wanting to stall, but its 100x better than before.

No i dont think it really matters. If you dont have idle issues i would just copy and paste things like timing tables, and fuel. If nothing else you could just donwload a bunch of tunes from blown cars and compare what they changed.
