Default got THE NELSON TUNE today !

well i put it in seemed to idle better already ,took it out for a 20 min blast and was pretty impressed already.just a couple things mostly with the shifting .pounding it to the floor 1st gear i get 5800 rpm 2nd i only get 5200 3rd 5200 is this normal? 2nd thing was that i was going up a hill doing 70 75 punched it and nothing ,whats up with that .that was pretty embarrrassing it just kept bogging and didnt kick down at all.is it still learning or is that the way it is ,if so im not happy about that i do alot of highway traveling and i like to go if ya know what i mean.like i said this is my first tune so im not sure what to expect,i just know iv read they have to learn for 100 miles or so .idle is perfect and wolla no more cam lump.wth.. or high idle starts which is good .any opinions or suggestions ,is there more to come etc!

It takes some time to learn. Just give it some time.

I am also interested in the learn process...not to hijack but my tranny hasn't been shifting right since I installed everything and I have the TCC code on check engine and my local tranny guys think that this may be related to the time that it might take for the computer to "learn" the new shift point programming. Could there be any validity in this?
Thanks

I don't agree with this wait a week. Maybe a day if its gonna run it will. I personally have had a nelson tune and wasn't happy with it. If you can get the hookup with hp tuners its definatley the way to go.

So no one is going to come forward to explain the learn thing? I would honestly like to know more about it.

the computer is smart and needs time to learn the new tune. it makes small fuel adjustments and shitlike that..

I noticed my tune was more powerful on the 2nd and 3rd day then it was on the first day I put it in..

I think I noticed the shift pressures got increased within a few days after the tune..

Make sure to drive your **** as hard as possible for the next few days and you'll be ok..

The computer has to learn the fuel trims as well as the idle. Everytime you put in a new PCM or load in a new tune it resets all of the learned values. As far as the shifts they are a fixed value there is no learning there, so if that is where it shifts now then that is where it is going to shift until it is changed.
