Default Got my Aerochambes on!!!

First of all, I like to say that if it wasn't for Flyer(with the Radix/cam when I first listened to it) I wouldn't have ever considered these mufflers. In my opinion, at idle and start up they sound a little like the corsa. My exhaust is not as deep as what I would have liked but its got the aggressive sound to it that I wanted at idle. I am running no cats and an X-pipe with shorty 1 5/8" headers. There is no drone or popping in the exhaust...but I do have a little rasp issue about 2300rpms that is slowing getting on my nerves; however, it is slowly going away as well....Kind of interesting!! I guess the mufflers are breaking in a little bit. Anyhow down to the good stuff...at idle, it has a sense of deepness but has a real throaty sound to it but very quiet. Once a little bit of throttle is applyed....it definately wakes up, past 2G rpms-its like cop patrol where are you. I going to give it about a week to break in and see if I like it...if I don't then resonators or cats are going on just to maybe just it a deeper sound. All in all, its really like the aggressive sound like the corsa once throttle is applyed and at idle but can be stealthy when just cruising around town. I will keep ya'll posted on my findings and results.

Oh, Performance-If feels nice during everyday driving but I feel like it really opened up once WOT hits. I was running 1-3" pipe into 2-2.5", 1-cat, and 1-muffler.....now 2-2.5", X-pipe, no cats, and 2 Hookers mufflers.

The X pipe may be where you're getting your resonation. Mine doesn't resonate at all, minimal drone. It's loud, but not obnoxious by any means.

The other day it was cold out when I went to work. My wife was still laying in bed. She said she could hear me all the way there (small town). I got on it prolly a mile to a mile and a half from the house as the crow flies and she could hear it clearly so she says. At idle .. it's deep, very deep and quiet.

I HATED my Aerochambers whan I had them......BAD drone and irritating rasp, that WAS with the stock cam so they might have sounded better now.

I'm glad you like them........

Doesn't it just scream so good about 4K and up. Mine was extremely loud and had the raspiness (is that even a word) when running manifolds/no cats. Once I put LTs on the rasp went away, smoothed the tone out some, and actually made it quieter.

Enjoy.

Merry X-Mas everyone!

imo, i think the aerochambers are the only way to go. I love the way my exhaust sounds. I think when the break in a little bit, i think you will be happier with them

Yea....I can....give me a few days and just remember that this is a Gen I engine and that the firing order is different so....the sound will be as well, just in the pulse of the exhaust.

I drove it today and it is growing on me very fast....when the mufflers get hot, the resonance goes completely away, sounds great; but it still has that tinny sound at 2G when throttle is added when mufflers are cold.

What ya'll think of this:If I open up the collector a little bit when I get my new headers such as...2.5" collector instead on the 2 1/4" and 3.5" tips to 3" tips in the back, I think the sound will be better...what ya'll think? I have 2.5" pipe but at the collector to make it work, we had to reuse some of my 2 1/4" pipe at the collector.

I'll get a sound clip soon.
