Default Got My 6.0L Block

I think I have a new project..
Now just to figure out what to do with it. I have so many options at this point. Anyone care to give me some ideas? I was thinking Escalade pistons, stock crank, nice cam and heads, or the more expensive option of a 400+ci forged beast.

I went out and bought an engine stand today and snapped a few more pics that I will post up in a few days. Trying to hold the block up long enough for someone to screw the bolts in and secure it was not very fun. Needless to say, I have a new respect for engine hoists. Thats next on the shop tool list.

I say 422 Lunati stroker kit. Good score on picking up the 6.0.

hey, if you go big cubes, i have a set of 4.030" ross pistons that would go nice in that block. they are for a 422, and i'd let'em go cheap. congrats on the 6.0

I want big cubes but it would take a long time to save that kind of money. If I can make 375-400 rwhp and 425-450 rwtq on motor, a nice 150 shot would make me happy. Most all my mods will fit on the new block. I still need a crank, heads, cam, and a few more things. If I go nitrous, what parts should I go forged with? Pistons, crank, rods?
I would like to use my 5.3L crank, but not sure how it would hold up.
Any and all input appreciated.
Kenny: Your truck is badass man, you've left me in the dust with the mods. I'm gonna catch up one day
Matt: If I go that big, I might want them, but it will be a long time before can do anything. Thanks though.

they can be used with a stock crank as well on a 6.0 block .030 over BIGJ, you just have to use a longer connecting rod.

big j- next time try bolting the head of the stand to the motor then just pick it up and slide the head into the stand. I do it all the time with short blocks-quicker and easier than hooking up the hoist.

I have a bud that is making 390hp to the wheels with a heads/cam lq9 if that helps you any. I am wanting to build me a 6.0 eventually but I just dont have the facilities or the money to do it now. As for your forged question.. You dont necessasarely need a forged crank. What about the rods/pistons you alread have inthe pic. Are they still good? If so you CAN reuse them just get new rod bolts and make sure it is tunned right onthe juice.
