Default Got killed..Help

Well I got beat by my friends 02 rcsb 5.3 today. I have a 00 rcsb 5.3 also. He got me by half a car to a full car length. The problem is his is stock with just a flowmaster exhaust, 3.42's with the stock locker G80? While I have intake, pulleys, exhaust and 3.73's with a eaton locker.

I am nearing 80,000 miles while he is only at 35,000. I raced with a 3/4 full tank and he had 1/4 and I had a passenger, but it should not make that much of a considerable difference? Last time we raced. I got him by a car and a half (this was without the 3.73's and locker, just stock 3.42's and open rear).

I know the amount of gas and passenger hurt me but not by that much I don't think. Maybe its a mileage issue? Also one friend we race sometimes with a rcsb 4.8l I beat by 3 cars just with exhaust and nothing else, he only beat by a car.

Just shoot me some opinions on this and such as I am lost and confused and upset as $1300 dollars got me jackshit it seems. Thanks

Usually 100 pounds = ~.1 in the quarter. The passenger and extra gas were hurting you pretty bad... lose the passenger and run him again, should be a lot better race!

Around half a tank more and a 190 pound passenger. I just thought I would get alot more out of the gears than what I did.

I agree that the extra weight is what got you.

How did you and he leave the line?An inch at the start=?feet at the 1/4.
He has the gearing advantage after launch.
1/2 tank gas =?85#, passanger 200#. How much HP is the pully worth?
Sounds like you guys match up pretty good, you won the first time, why would he tell you if he changed a little something?
Keep Racin'

The '02+ trucks are just faster. No one really has a good explanation. The only thing that I know is different is that they don't have EGR.

Yes. You would have to have EDIT to turn EGR off.

I still think that there's more to it than that, though. I think that the General was holding out on us. Those trucks HAVE to be making more than the 01 and later trucks, but the 02+ are rated at the same HP and TQ, at the same RPMS if I remember correctly.

My truck is very weight sensitive. I know the general formula is .1 per 100lbs in the 1/4, but with my g/f in the truck when I race in the 1/8th i'm about .3-.5 slower, and she certainly doesn't weigh 300-500lbs.
