Default got american racing headers on and ory and flowmaster is terrible so now what muffler

2007 z71 tahoe and just put my american racing headers on 1 3/4 with ory pipe and the flowmaster has to go. amazing how much it has changed and now sounds terrible and way it was sounded pretty good. It is raspy and sounds like it is chocking the truck on wot. Thinking a borla 3 inch in and dual 2.5 out as the flow was but borla xs is a bigger muffler by 2 inchs in the case so that will also help it quiet down some. I have that muffler on my 92 firebird with a 383 and single t76 turbo and sounds like stock until wastegate opens and it is a small 3 inch in and out but know turbo also makes it more quiet. the borla for the truck is pricy 200 bucks where a magnaflow or ultraflow is around 100 so trying to decide what to do. I took all kinds of picks putting the headers on the truck and will post later I forgot the camera at home so cant upload picks but took me a total of 2 hours to pull the old and put new on so the easiest header swap I have ever done on anything. fit is perfect nothing hits or rattles so you get what you pay for and seat of the pants low end torque feels big as now can smoke the big 33s pretty good from a stop with all the traction stuff off and looks to have picked up some gas mileage also. reset it and will see how it does this week with changes but have to make this sound better so if you have used something and like it let me know but so far leaning to the borla 400241 muffler.

I like the sound of Borla, but never liked the price. I absolutely love Magnaflow. (shush charcoal lol) I have heard Magnaflow is one of the few that even sounds good on smaller motors and even imports. Personal preference prevails here though. Some people love the harsh rhaspy loudness of flowmaster but it drives me insane on most vehicles. I like Magnaflow and borla because they're milder in the lower rpms and they scream but keep their tone at the higher rpms.

Had a Borla ProXS on my Tahoe. Sounded great for 2 years, then the insides burned out and it became wayyyy too loud (still had stock manifolds and cats at the time). Went with Magnaflow after that. Been 4 years and still sounds great.
