Default Is this a good cam for my 5.3

2002 sierra (bolt ons in sig) is the comp cams xr275hr a good fit for my set up? I'm going with ls6 springs and a hardned pushrod 7.400 but I don't want to do any more work to the heads they are stock. The torque converter is also stock. Cam specs 212/224 .566/.568 112* lsa. What are your opinions on this the truck is a dd but I just want a little extra power.

Hello anyone have an opinion? I also found some good deals on torque converters which would be better a 2800-3200 or a 3200-3600

That cam is a good choice, I would pair it with a 3k stall. Chirs at circle d can hook ya up, give him a shout.

I like mine. I would like the truck more if it were on the road!
That cam is very lumpy and pulls hard right to 6800. As a trade-off, power below 2200 is less than stock. With your 4.11 gears, you should enjoy it. Pushrod length changes as your valve seats wear.

With that cam in a 5.3 you are prolly gunna want around a 3400 converter or so...

If its going mainly be a daily driver and not really take it to the track a 3k stall would be fine.. as on the street a big stall is going to be useless unless you have drag radials or good tires..

Its gunno be a dog with a 3k until you get around 4k though. Might as well do it right the first time. With my 220 I wish I had more than a 3200

i have a 2800-3000 in mine...works just fine. like tyler said, no need for a huge converter if you're not takin it to the track or roll around on slicks or drag radials...unless you like makin smoke shows
