Default Going to check out a 6.0 today.

The guy says it may be out of a 2004 silverado hd..

Is there any way that I can verify exactly what it came out of by the casting numbers or any other numbers on the block???? Im gona take some pictures an post them up on here later. An see what u guys think. He says its a complete motor one head is off to see the bores an it has around 115 k on it. Hes askin 600.

Any other input or ideas for me to check leme kno.

Not really. Its a lot easier to tell what it is since a head is off. If its aluminum heads then its at least 02+, if there are 3 different length head bolts its an 02-04 I think, if its only 2 lengths, then its an 05+. However thats not absolute because 04-05 there were both. Also if the pistons are dished its an lq4, flat its an lq9. Make sure it says 6.0 on the block as well.

i knew about the 6.0 mark an the difference in piston just didnt kno if u could tell what year it was. If there was a casting number for what year of truck it was in.

There is a casting number on the block, but it doesnt tell you what year it is from.

How would I get a pcm to match it if I dont kno the year of truck it came out of??

It would be easier to just have yours tuned; they use the same computer. Any half decent tuner could make it work, assuming you are reusing your current injectors and throttle body.

Justin tuned my truck. I was gonna get a junkyard pcm for this 6.0 ima buy an send it to him to tune it. I got a tbss intake that I might be throwing on too stock injectors an tb.

Look at the valley cover bolts. If they are 10mm, its the <2004 style engine. If they are 13mm, it is a >2004 style with the big rods. That's all that matters
