first thing I would do is tires, if it wont grip it just slips.
traction is the main issue, no matter what you do under the hood if the tires don't grip the road then all of that extra horse power is wasted.
it is a proven fact that a good set of tires can reduce your time by as much as a half a second if not more.

next is the basics, letting it breath, a good K&N filter with headers and duel exhaust is a good start, just by doing this you can see a gain of 25+ horses.

next is a custom tune, this will provide an extra gain of 20+ horses,
depending on your set up a custom tune can deliver tremendous gains by lining out the fuel and timing tables for the most horse power possible.
it can also do wonders to the transmission, shift points, limiters, line pressure and so on

by this point your addicted, you will want more, you have yet to rip in to the motor.
after you have done the above you will ask about cam shafts and torque converters.
and we will tell you about changing the springs to the LS6 or comp 918's and a set of better push rods for the cam you chouse

as we know that will not be enough, you will next ask about NOS, superchargers, turbo's,
and the almighty question where do I get a 6.0 and the 408 upgrade kit.

Welcome to the club.

I wouldn't bother with the Hypertech; get a custom tune from either Nelson Performance or a Wait for Me. That alone will make your truck seem like a different animal, and they can update the tune for mods you do later on.

Smart man....Smart man....It's true..it's happened to all of us, i started out w/intake, then exhaust, then a tune. Skipped the cam and went straight for the nitrous, but forgot about traction, and now the nitrous is completely useless b/c if i hit it at any speed in 3rd gear, it just seems to smoke the tires, so, first things first....get an eaton.
