You can see my truck in the sig. I want to pick up about 30-40 hp with this cam and tuning. Plus im only gonna set the limiter to 6200 so i figured the hotcam was a good choice since i didnt think u have to rev them high?
Is it possible to get that much hp. Cause it seems like people dont gain a whole lot with this cam. thanks! BTW im gonna use a predator to tune it.

In the 5.7 the hot cam doesn't create stellar gains but has some less than desirable idle characteristics... put it in the 5.3 and you may see those peak gains but it will seem much more "cammy"- poor idle quality can be expected unless you get custom tuning ... nothing on the shelf will help here.

the hot cam is too hot for a 5.3L in a truck if your going to go with a 2002 LS-6 cam its got shorter duration and there was just a string about dyno results w/ this cam in a 5.3L they stopped @6000 but the power curve hadn't nosed over yet. the LS-6 cam picked up torque from 3000 up I believe and didn't lose that much dowmn low. the hot cam's longer duration will lose you more down low.

I'm sure Big Tex will speak for him self but last I heard he was runnin an ls6 cam, same as I am.As far as cams go it's the best bang for the buck. You can spend more bucks and get more cam but it won't due much more for ya with out a stall, heads, gears and so on...........
Speakin of Big Tex, I need to get a race with that guy while he's still got the 5.3 in.

dont get the hot cam unless you get some tuning. My cam is smaller than that in duration and mine needs tuning. You will also need a around a 3200 stall to make the hot cam come alive. The ramp rates are fairly quick on the hot cam. We put one in REDPEPPERZ's z28 and we had to drill the TB to make it idle on a m6. When we put EDIT on it, it made a world of difference. Just my $.02

3000 would but i think the 3200 would better and you will have to send your diablo, like me, off to to get them to download a program for you for that cam. you wouyld need the stall because your truck will be gutless down low. my cam isnt that big and i lost a ton down low

i tell you what i wouldnt get them if your gonna get the diablo. They can put that in as part of the download. I got mine from Jason @ penzo performance but he now works for our diablo sponser at PDQ performance
