shorty headers offer little to no improvement over the stock manifolds. tell him to save for some mid-length or long tubes

it costs to go fast. i think Hamm's are prolly some of the cheapest out there. ASMs are popular but they're pretty expensive. but look at it like this, would you rather spend a chunk of money for a decent gain in power, or spend 250 (or however much the gibsons cost) and get jack squat?

I put on some JBA shortys and had no real seat of the pants change far as ride goes, I just wanted to better the package for a possible cam in the future. They are manderal bent tubing headers so i'm sure they will better other mods. When I get serious i'll probley go to FLP which is in my town and have em fab up some long tubes and cats and head pipes. The big trucks don't get y pipes :p either that or I should get the new GTO.

FLP does make headers for the LS1-based trucks...and they do come with a y-pipe. They are quite expensive, but they look like a very good product.

By the way, don't waste your money on Gibson's.

I run ASM headers several site sponsers sell them they are expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of performance and quality.Doug Thorleys are a longtube tri-wye headers that new on the market at a good price from Summit.I don't think you can buy Hamms headers anymore which is a shame because they were a good buy. There's also a guy named John Fennell (I think) who sells Power Vault Mufflers he used to sell Hamms headers I know he has another header he sells now.Check them all out they are all much better than anybodies shorty header.
