Default Getting the truck dyno'd

A buddy of mine invited me to an all-Neon dyno day/drag race at the end of February. Getting a great price for two pulls.

Is there anything that I should know about dyno'ing the truck? Should I get wideband O2 readings (isn't that just a better way to tell the A/F ratio?)

Anything that I need to do to prep the truck for the dyno?

Not to sound stupid...I've only seen a dyno before, but never strapped the truck down to one.

Thanks for any suggestions...

Not much to it. They just strap'em and rap'em. If you have a HPPIII, (or any programmer) tell them and set your rev limiter to 6200+. Fresh oil can add a couple of ponies. A tranny flush and gear oil change can add a couple more.

All Neon day huh !!!! OBKB <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

probably takes that long to dyno a neon, put it in 4th and floor it and wait and wait and wait and wait <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> and wait.

It wouldn't hurt to putt in a fresh set of plugs before you dyno. Also make sure you bump up your speed limiter to 128 because if you don't you will have to dyno it in 2nd gear & it will not be as accurate as in 3rd gear.

Thanks guys! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

There are supposed to be some SRT-4's there. Should be interesting to see what they put down to the wheels.

And, I know that it's an all-Neon day, but it's cheap and I stand a chance of having the highest HP vehicle there! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
