I hate my GM limited slip. It only works when it wants and now it dosen't work at all. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> I have always had problems with it. Last monday I laid down 150 ft of my right rear tire. I am not joking 150 ft and it never caught. I would go with 3.73. I am about to return to 3.73 in my truck and let GM pay for another limited slip, just because it is free. Good luck.

If the limited slip you have is the G80 Gov-lock you shouldn't waist your time putting it in if you plan on doing a SC later. The G80 might work ok with a n/a motor but when you throw a SC or NOS on, it isn't worth a crap. I plan on putting 4:10's & an eaton aftermarket limited slip in mine in a month or two because I am tired of spinning one tire most of the time.

I am saying that the G80 Locking/Limited-Slip hybrid has crappy engagement. It takes a certain amount of wheel slippage between the two wheels to lock the differential down & if your wheel speed is above 25mph it wont lock down either. The differential locks down good on dirt or on wet pavement but absolutely stinks on dry pavement.
