Cool Getting rid of the cats....

Im going to be removing the cats from my truck this week to free up the exhaust flow a bit. I already have hptunning on the truck so the check engine light is not a problem. Here are my concerns....

I've heard the truck turns alot richer?

How do I fix this?

How do you turn off the COT (cats over temperature) w/ hptunning?

What would be best...
Cut after the whole with the tread for the rear sensors and toss the sensors permenantly... or should I leave the o2 sensors on the exhaust even though they are turned off.

Any input apreciated

Are the performance gains noticable? I know the exhaust becomes louder but my truck is kind of quiet so a little louder wouldn't hurt. My exhaust setup consists of a pair of Borla ProXS with 2.25" pipeing, a magnaflow x-pipe stock cats and stock exhaust manifolds...man I want some LTs.

You will notice a nice difference up in the high end. You can just cut and run straight pipe and leave your rear o2 sensors even though they are turned off.
I hear it does tend to rechen you up a bit when you delete your cats. I can help you tune your truck if you are up for it.

@ the dyno I gained 22hp and 28ftlbs....... I think mine were REALLY clogged though..

Those numbers are truly immpressive. Were runs made on the same day or under similar weather conditions?

Thats a big gain. My truck has 34K so I probably will see like 10hp gain at most. I don't think the cats are clogged or bad, but I have to kill them. Anything to make more power.

Just be easy when you cut them off so you can save them you never know when you might want to put them back on. I ditched my y-pipe with cats when I got my dual exhaust put on then my parents bitched about how loud my exhaust was in the morning so I had to pay 200 bucks for some magnaflow high flow cats. I no longer live with them so needless to say the cats are back off. I notice a very nice gain up top it seems to bury the speedo alot faster now escpecially with the nitrous.
