Default Getting ready for headers and duals, anyone have a sound clip?

Been doing some searching and can't find a good clip of what to expect in case I might need to alter my idea. The truck is a stock 5.3 and I will be doing an EFI Live tune as soon as the exhaust is on.

I have a pair of Thrush Welded mufflers (copies of Flowmaster 40s basically from what I've heard)

Hedman fbody ls1 stepped long tubes (I've read they will fit with minor tweaking to the passenger side to pull it from the frame)

and planning to do catless 2.5" duals exiting together in front of the passenger tire

Anyone have anything remotely similar? I can't find any videos of headers/duals with no cats and the FM40s or Thrush mufflers on a lsx based truck. I'm honestly shocked...seems a lot of people stick with a y pipe (I hate the boat like sound of a y pipe).

I hate the boat sound of true duals with your kind of mufflers. It would sound better with bullet mufflers. Good luck buddy. Post a vid when you're done.

Kinda what I'm afraid of, the car has Flowtech Terminator chambered mufflers with 3" duals and long tubes and it sounds great...but it's also cammed.

The stock cam in ls1 and 4.8/5.3/6.0 seems to make them sound like crap. But anything with a y pipe is worse, and some times I hear one with duals and stock cam that sounds great.

The mufflers were given to me and I'm not a tight budget so I'd rather use them if I can...especially since the dynomax bullets are expensive.

I hear ya' buddy. Throw it together now with what you have and if you don't like it, you can always cut them ours and weld something else on there.

Thanks guys!

Yeah drone is fairly likely...I think I'm going to talk to the exhaust shop and if it's not incredibly more expensive see about running them over the axle and exit behind the passenger tire instead of in front.

I'll be sure to post video clips either way.

Here's some of the car to hold you over:

OLD cam

New cam/heads
