The guys who have offered info pretty much have it covered. I didn't take my radiator out, I zip tied it like Soquel said. I also bought some locks, but ended up not needing them....managed to keep my hands on all of the originals. And I like the idea of scheduling a massage ahead of time....I never had so many different muscles hurt at one time in my life. Even the muscles in my feet hurt.

I almost impaled myself on the hood latch when my stepstool kicked out from under me!

IMO the Crane valvespring tool is tops! I've used some of the other styles, and nothing was a good and easy

Some guys have used 5/16" aluminum or wood dowels...Soquel mentioned that it didn't fit on the one side and he used a piece of bamboo I've never done the pen magnet method, but did hear some scary stories about the magnets coming lose from the pen and getting stuck on the lifter

I bought two 5/16 wood dowels and one 1/4. I ended up cutting the 5/16 in half, and using it. Worked great and would have only cost .39 cents if I would have bought one.

Yes they can get stuck in there and it really sucks! Solved it by putting a little piece of duck tape around each of them just above the magnet.

Not trying to jack your thread, I just have a quick question.
How much horsepower/torque will a good cam add to my 99' 4.8, is it worth it? And what would be an estimate total cost for parts needed (Not Labor).

Thanks,
Nick

It will be worth it. hp/tq incresses depend on which cam you get. Have fun there many choices out there!
