I have a fleetside bed, so I put mine in the area in front of the wheel well in the front left corner. There is a drain hole already there, so I just busted out the dremel and made it large enough for the nitrous line and about 8 or so wires that go to my heater, opener, and pressure sensor. I used a rubber grommet so nothing would get cut or scrape against the metal.

It might help traction a bit if you put it in the back of the bed, but I didn't want to have the obstruction there if I needed to haul anything

I installed my bottle right behind the driver's seat. Seems to work alright. No need for a remote bottle opener or remote bottle pressure gauge. It is not the perfect position to mount it.
Do a search on this. Someone has recently asked this question.

I have mine behind the pass seat. It is very easy to reach and turn on there.

What about up in the bed, between the outside wall and the bed itself? That would be pretty damn discrete! If they found that ... they don't need to be around your truck cause they are to damn nosey.

It would then be exposed to outside elements, but I would think a little sheet metal cover or something would cover it up from the under side. Maybe make it like a mounting plate or something.

I'd put mine behind the drivers seat if I didn't have subs and amps back there - Zex has instructions on their website about mounting the bottle sideways and even straight up - its all about getting the pick up tube inside of the bottle to swing back towards the back bottom of the bottle during acceleration.

They make those steel or aluminum storage boxes that are made to go under large trucks - might be able to find one that would fit under the bed and hold a nitrous bottle. But it wouldn't be very convenient to take out for refills.
