Talking Gear Change

I am ging to chnage gears in my truck soon, but I am still undecided on what size. The truck came with 3.73 stock. Tire I am running now are 33 x 12.5 x 20. What size would be recomended?? 3.90, 4.10, 4.56?

4.10 -- I'm suprised your Z71 didnt come with 4.10 gear, most do from the factory.

Im not telling you what to do but unless you want to go to 4.56 I wouldnt wasts the money unless you have plans on putting in a Posi and you will already be in there. The reason I changed is because I had 3.42's. Are you wanting to do a Posi?

My truck already has a posi in it. The only reason i would think a 4.10, is if in the future I might decide to lower the truck and put smaller tires on it, mpg would be hurt as bad.

it would be nice if there were a 4.30 option. overall i'd say go with the 4.10's. 4.56's would be nice, but that makes the pinion a bit smaller and isn't very highway friendly.

A 4.10 would be good. If you ever planned on going bigger with your tires then you should consider a 4.56. My Z71 has the 3.73's which I chose for fuel savings, that is probably minimal. The 4.10's were a no cost option, but with stock height tires I am pretty happy with my 3.73's.

I would have to agree with the 4.10 myself. I am hoping tomorrow will be the day I finally get mine in. I have been looking at them for months on the floor now. My truck has 3.42's so I hope it will make a pretty good difference, from what I have read it will.
