Default GD MF'ing POS Truck

I sware to God this truck is fighting me all the way to the end. I get everything set to crank her up and break in the new cam tonight and I cant get any fire. I check the wiring on the MSD digital 6 and its hooked up correctly. I go borrow an identical one from a friend and still no fire. I replace the coil and still no fire. I read the trouble shooting from the MSD manual and turns out its the damn magnetic pickup gone bad. I have to work tomorrow so I have a friend getting me a new cap rotor and pickup. I hope that tomorrow will be the day. If this dosent work I think I am going to throw matches at it untill the fire department shows up!!!

Not sure which distributor you have but MSD ignitions are bad about poping the pickup if you have turned on the ignition without the distributor wires hooked up. Voltage stays built up somehow and when you hook the wires up to the distributor (even with the ign off) it discharges and pops the pickup. My brother had it happen to him when I unplugged the distributor to turn it over without cranking and then reconnected it. I don't know all the science behind it or why but now I always touch the wires from the MSD box to Distributor to ground before I connect them(with power off of course).

Thanks For the info. I will not do that when I hook it back up. It is an MSD so that is what happened I guess.
