Doesnt hurt to spray a little on a rag and open the TB and clean both sides of the
plate - if your OCD like me - I take the entire assy off and clean it.
But I'm Monk's twin
I aggree. I think is a much more effective way to clean it. Besides I am always worried now that the straw will shoot from the can and get stuck in the intake.

Don't use the straw. I clean mine all the time especially lately. Time to replace the PCV valve again also.

I was having a sticking problem on my BBK 80mm TB and I ended up taking the butterfly out and taking my dremel to it with the 80 grit flap wheel and finishing abrasive buffs, both inside the TB and on the outside edge of the butterfly. Worked like a champ.

I have heard of quite of few guys having to remove the intake to get
the red straw out.
