Question Gas Mileage

Anyone know what the gas mileage would be on a Silverado 2500 HD 4wd with the Vortec 6000? If you have this what kind of mileage are you getting?

My Dad had one and was getting around 12-13 on the highway and around 8-10 in town. He sold it for that reason.

After my nelson tune, I just got my personal best of 14.5 mpg on th highway and my previous best was 12.9 mpg on the highway. I'm also on 35's and have 4.10's so my economy will be less that a stock tire truck. In town my truck sucks gas. I go to school in Tallahassee and its stop and go on hills so fuel economy drops to around 7-9 mpg. I would have gotten the diesel, but I didn't have an extra 6K sitting around to get it. Good luck.

wow 22, must be downhill with a tailwind. i have a 1500hd w/ 6.0 before any mods got 13-15 avg with everything listed in my sig i avg 10+ if i take it reaaally easy, which i never do, i can avg 12. if mileage is a concern but you still need a big powerful truck get the diesel. if you don't need a big truck get a toyota. if i did'nt have to pull a 7k trailer that's what i'd have. e

22mpg is basically cruising at 35-45mph on "main side roads". 1,100-1,400rpm.

It drops to 18's on the highway.

The most I ever saw stock, was like, high 16's to very low 17's.

see everyones different, i generally have 200-400 pounds in my truck not to mention passengers or the hard tonneu cover so maybe if i took all that stuff out drove alone at 35 and forgot that i have a supercharger, i could get 15 again. but that's not likely. e
