Default Fuel pump gone. Upgrade??

I've replace my fuel pump once with a replacement from a parts store. Well when I pulled in my driveway today it finally gave up. The reason I replaced the whole unit before was my sending unit was bad too. My question is there an easy pump replacement that a little better than stock? Like a walbro. That would be cheaper that the $250 unit at the parts store. It's for the truck in my sig.

Well lets make sure it's the pump. What do y'all think? As I was slowing to a stop its kinda stumbled then died as I put it in park. I tried to crank it but it just kept dying. The pump normally has kinda a wine when you turn the key on as it primes up. But now its kinda a lower pitch groan when I turn the key then it goes off like normal until I try to crank it. No fuel pressure with key on engine off. The needle on the pressure gauge hardly moves while trying to crank it. I replaced the filter a couple weeks ago.

ive done this so many times.use test light connected to a good ground, probe the prime terminalturn the key on and the light should illuminate for 2 seconds. if it doesn't do this, check relay and fuses.if it does, move on to step 2... jump a wire from the positive terminal to the fuel prime. disconnect harness and check for power there, check for ground continuity.if theres no power....uhhhhhhh. continiuty,no ground, check the terminals inside harness, make sure everything is secure(this is where my first ground problem arose). no continuity, run a new ground(had to do this most recently).having power and aa good ground to the pump, that still doesn't work= dead pump ive always ran walbro pumps, been through3 of themover the years. still cheaper that buying the entire assembly and having it installed.also, id go with a 255 since you`re cammed.

It was the pump. The 4/6 was no problem because I just took the bed off( that only takes 5 minutes) I found out the last pump I put in it about 4 years ago had a lifetime warranty so I just got another one from them for FREE. I think the last one was doomed from the beginning because it always had a loud wine to it. This one us nice and quiet. Thanks for the input done good info there.
