Default fuel pump

i installed the walbro pump from texas speed we removed the bed and got it done in 1.5 hours it would have been quicker but my dremel tool went dead.the bed is really easy to remove 8 bolts and 2 connectors right behind the bumper plus the 3 little bolts that hold the filler neck on

I'm in need of replacing my fuel pump this week, mine took a huge $hit!! So, any help/advice you can give me will be much appreciated. Where did you buy your Walbro? What was the dremel tool needed for? Are there many modifications to do, to work with the stock connectors?

i bought my pump from texas speed i had to mod the bottom of the pump bucket to get the pump low enough to get the new screen on the bottom.there is a plastic piece that sticks up from the bottom about 1.5 inches.you have to remove that and zip tie the pump to the housing plus in stall the supplied connector that fits the pump the plug is different.its very easy.tips and tricks has pictures under the gm motor section ryhno79 posted.only diff i did was remove the bed it was a lot quicker.good luck

you ddint need to cut that hole. the pumps ive done use a filter on the pump and still use the basket's filter so its double filter. and for some to say it has to be sumerged in fuel. its in fuel already and gets plenty of fuel

The Walbro pumps I've seen are not long enough on the inlet side to put the filter on. They are also more narrow than the stock pump and don't fit snug like the stocker.

thats odd honestly. my pump sits nicely in there. i put the black rubber around it and my filter sits right on the pump at the bottom of the basket.
