Aw crap!, so this guy's using a 36 mm socket? WTF man. Am I going to have to go out there and measure the damned thing? I use a big-*** torque wrench that goes on sale oocaionaly for 55$ (regular 130)as a breaker because last time I spent 30$ on a big nut breaker, the damned thing bent on the first application and broke on the fourth. Also need to figure out how many pounds I'm suppose to use to but the axle nut back on.

Judging by how much force he was applying in that pic, looks like at lease 150ft/lb.

I gave you a link to a thread for the torque specs, it was the last link in my post... hell, you even quoted it in your last post...lol. Anyway yeah its a 36mm socket, I used a 36 on mine when I put on my mcgaughy's spindles on my 06 and I don't think they changed the nut size between years. I got the socket from the autozone by my house. As far as it goes for having to use a breaker bar, mine weren't on all that tight.

And I guess I'll post the torque specs from zippy's posted specs on silveradoss on here for easier finding...

1. Steering knuckle to spindle bolt-------------------133 lb ft
2.CV joint to front axle bolts-------------------------58 lb ft
3. Ball Joints----------------------------------------74 lb ft (lower) 37 lb ft (upper)
4. Front spindle nut(the big 36MM one).--------------177 lb ft

I used that same write up when i did my spindles on my 04. It was a 36mm. Its actually a little bigger than a 35 but the 36 works fine.

Thanks, great info. I now have a 36mm axle nut remover reserved at Canadian tire for 15$. Their rent price is 5$ plus deposit. The fuel to bring it back isn't even worth it. I measured the bolt size and it was definitely close to 36 mm, far from 32mm.
