free hp ideas

I'm wanting to get more power out of my 5.3L engine although my dad won't let me do anything major to my truck because if I f-up my motor he will end up carting me to college everyday. So my question is what can I do to my truck that will give me more power? I have a full day tomorrow to do anything. what should I do? My ideas are port and polish my TB, is it worth it , how do you do it (take a drimel tool and grind the inside of the throttle body making the opening bigger then smoothe it up?) are there andy down sides of doing this mod? Any more suggestions? I Already have the basic mods;HPP3, K&N FIPK, headers, TBS, ram-air, true duel exhaust, x-pipe. Let me know what to do thanks

there's not really anything you can do that's free that's gonna make a difference you can feel (unless you find a free 6.0) but start by porting the TB, remove the ridge in front of the blade at the bottom....you can really hog that biatch out pretty good too....i have a few that i've done that are pretty wide open. also, do the free mods, but like i said doing this stuff isn't gonna make much of a SOTP improvement. i would say do a cam/spring swap sometime, it's pretty much a reliable mod if you keep the cam choice reasonable so there's no real reason that would *** up your motor.

Try looking here. Shift kit, torque converter, servos, and rear end gears. These don't really make anymore "power" but they do change the driving charactoristics of your truck and make it faster and seem more powerful. I'm not sure if that's really what your looking for but I tried.
For more actual HP and TQ try electric fans and pullies. If I think of any other thing I'll let you know. Also, a good cam would be a Z06 (LS6) cam, from what I hear good power gains over the band but lots up top.
Hope this helps.
