Default Found a nice cam option for the L31

So I just noticed a nice little cam option for a L31 or even L30 Vortec. It is a GM performance parts steel billet roller cam. Comes in the newly introduced GM SPO 350 /357 HP crate engine. Basically GM took the old 330 HP 350 HO and set it up with a roller cam rather than a flat tappet cam. It is 215/223 @ .050 and .473/.473" lift. GM is using production Vortec heads on it down to the same springs, retainers and seals that the L31 used. Basically a little tamer than the LT4 Hotcam and drops into the stock engine with no head mods.

GM Part Number 12677151

Just picked one up for $287. I am going to run mine with 1.6 rockers and LS6 springs.

Power rating for the crate engine is 357 HP @ 5,500 and 407 TQ at 4,000. Running GMs low rise dual plane intake from the 330 HP 350 HO, 600cfm carb, HEI set for 32° total advance and headers. The 330 HP engine was known to make more power than it was rated and I have a feeling this 357 HP version may do the same once people start testing it.

Cool. Kind of surprised they're still releasing factory new parts for this, but it's cool none the less.

The engine was introduced @ SEMA 2016. It is not "new" by any means.

Old technology is still old technology.

Go farm you're old SBC BS somewhere else.

Plenty of us are still running them and building them. No real desire for a LS swap here for what I am doing.

With my marine intake, tri-y headers, 24x coil per cylinder, 0411 swap it will run strong.

ZZ3/4 cam a little milder, LT4 Hot cam just a hair bigger. But looks like a nice edition.

That is a nice cam option for the GEN 1 engines. That 357hp/350 is a nice running new release crate engine.
