Okay i just found out that my LS1 has a craked water jacket so i'm gonna have to re sleeve it so i decied to build a 427ci for my future WS6.. and now i'm thinking about forging my 4.8 but i can't find pistons for it. does anybody knows where to get them? BTW i'm gonna install a rear mounted turbo and i'm not planning on converting my 4.8 to a 5.3 or a 5.7 due to gas prices

 

Talk to 8ALTNG. He built a forged 4.8 but I'm pretty sure he had to have pistons custom made for it. I really don't thing there is enough difference in mileage between the 4.8 and 5.3 for that to be a determining factor in building it. I know my boosted 4.8 doesn't get great mileage like I though it would.
