Usually its a letter followed by 3 numbers

 

lets just say its D292

D= 4 month of the year
29 = 29'th day of the month
2 = 2002


So D292 would equal April 29 of 2002

Some of the later ones will read differently.

Like D406 would be April 04 of 2006.

D= april
4 = 04
06 = 2006

It would be an 02 but could have been installed in an Early 03 model.
