Default Flowtech cut-outs why not to buy them(pics)

Ok heres the deal. I bought some flowtech 2.5" cutouts for my exhaust to make it louder when I wanted to and get a little more performance just like everyone else. Well I live in Houston, TX and for the last couple of months in northern AL. So these cut-outs have not seen salt or anything like that, that woiuld normally cause rust. I have had them on my truck for about 6 months and have been rusted for about 3 of them I jsut got my exhaust reworked and it reminded me of how pissed I was that they were already rusted up. I just though I would let everyone know so you may think twice before buying some. I have only been to the beach with these once and that was two weeks ago. Here are the pics enjoy

That's why I never bought one. Those wouldn't last a winter up here. FYI, QTP just released a stainless steel cutout that is exactly like the Flowtech. I think the 3" were $45 each.

pics are small, but looks to me that the rust is just cosmetic...nothing to worry about unless you have a show truck?

Yeah they are basically cosmetic but still pisses me off that the paint has come off and they havent even had a hard life. I could scrub em up and paint them again but why they are just going to look like **** in a couple of months again. Just wanted to show evryone that the coating(paint) on the flowtechs suck.

The paint is just some cheap paint. It's nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing to worry about.

I have the same problem with my flowtechs. I've had mine for over a year and they started rusting about 6 months ago. It doesn't worry me to much. I just gave a coat of rustolium and problem solved, if not temporarily.

Are they covered in rust? Did the paint fleck off or just burn off completely?
