Default Flowmaster vs. Magnaflow Video

Flowmaster 3 chamber SUV 50 series vs Magnaflow 14588. Both are single in 3" dual out 2.5". (2) 2.5" tail pipes out the rear of truck at the hitch. The rest of the exhaust system is stock for now.

Im glad i did this swap. The new sound of my magnaflow has really grown on me. I have ran flowmasters for years and it was well time for change in sound and more flow. I swear i feel a difference in the seat of my pants. Feels to build more power down low and at high rpms. Does not drone at all. Quiet on the freeway. WOT is awsome sounds mean as hell. The flowmaster pearced your ears at wot from behind. All in all i love it. But i think she will break in some and blow some of that packing out

As for the video, sorry but its at night for both demos of the sound. Only had friday night to do the flowmaster vid because i had the magnaflow going in on saturday morning. Did the magnaflow video saturday night. But you guys will get the idea. Let me know what you think. Im no way a video editor so i did the best i could with windows movie maker. Enjoy!

Did you notice a performance gain from the Magnaflow. I like how loud the Flowmasters are, that is what I have on my truck.

The Magnaflow sounds good to me. You can hear the blower better also.

I have a 3'' in/out single Magnaflow on my truck now, and I think it sounds a lot better than the Flow's....your truck sounds great!

Thanks for the videos....it's great to have this kind of stuff available so people can make good decisions. Both exhausts sound good IMO, but I think you'll experience some real gains from the Magnaflow.

After driving arond for a couple of days now, mid to hi range power seem to increase the most. I think the flowmaster was holding me back slightly. Boost guage sits right on 8 psi now at the shifts. With the flomaster the guage would trickle to almost 8.5 at the shifts. So that their tells me im at least flowing more air through the exhaust. Had no idea a muffler could make such a difference.

Good job man, nice comparo. I like the loud Flow sound, but the Magnaflow seems to have a tighter, more finely-tuned sound...and if performance is better, than it's a no brainer

the magnaflow does sound tighter sort of like a ferrari exhaust vs mustang

thanks for taking the time to vid the difference. Ive been wanting to get rid of my 40 flow for a while and this only makes it worse. I swear Ive lost hearing I have to crack the window because of the resonance sometimes I can only imagine what it sounds like behind me when I mash the gas. The plus is setting off car alarms

Is that a full exhaust without the cats?
