where can i buy the tool i need to re flare the fuel rail fitting? i need to shorten it and i had debated cutting it off and welding it on but there is not a welder that will do that for me. has anyone done this before?

 

176 people and no one has a clue how to shorten the supply spring lock fitting to accommodate the vette filter on a return style fuel system?

They are between 300-500 bucks. Does anyone have one I can ship my fuel rail too and have it flared. I cant see buying it and using one time

 

I have one of those flaring tools. Haven't tried the "push-connect" flares yet and you're on the other side of the country, sooo...

 

Im not against shipping the rail to you. I just need to cut it down to adjust for the vette fuel filter.

 

No one in your area will cut it down and re-flare it ? And whats this bad boy look like that needs shortened. I am drawing a blank for some reason lOl

 

i have called 5 different hose shops and no one knows that a push connect flare is. its the connection that the fuel line connects to on the fuel rail.

 

So you need some one to flare this ?

 

A cheap way unless you can have it flared at a shop or buy the fittings to make it work or buy the tool. Is to cut it and put a light flare in each of the cut ends, connect the 2 using a short piece of fuel injection hose and stainless clamps. Not the best way but would work, unless you have it brazed or welded back together after it has been cut to length.
