I have almost no mechanical experience and my swap went fine...not one problem. I get the pcm today from Allen so I can finally drive the thing.

This was all on my '99 2wd extended cab:
-used 4L80 Transmission w/ 6mo. parts/labor warranty w/ 39K miles ($1000)
-driveshaft was fine (no modification needed) ($0)
-Found a yoke out of a turbo 400 ($25) and got u-joint ($20) from O'Reilleys to mate yoke with driveshaft
-Crossbrace was simple mod (took 1 hour tops to mod) ($0 for me--maybe $100 if you don't weld?)
-Speartech harness is no brainer ($160)
-4L60 Transmission Lines went fine with rubber hoses on the end to cooler
-B&M Cooler ($60)
-Computer Programming (free....I bought Allen's tune months ago)
-Transgo Shift Kit (~$110+install)
-Yank 2800 (~$900)

Fortunately, I did not have to hook the new trans up to the 5.3 my truck originally had....I swapped the motor at the same time for a 6.0 so no flex plate, etc. was needed in my case. Transmission simply bolted right up to the 6.0!
