Default first dyno run

I wanted to get some starting figures before I get into heads and cam. I was disappointed the 5.3 put down 244hp and 300tq with aem intake and 40 series flow. The truck feels alot faster than the figures it put down my 0 to 60 is around 6 sec flat in a z71 ext cab (havent had time to go to the track). The guy tuning it said the 3K stall will suckup alot of HP. The origional tune from a sponsor on here had it running very very rich (which accounts for 12 mpg) and it had 32 degrees of timing . I also had alot of tranny quirckes worked out and after about 2 hours of playing with it I gained 10 hp over the origional tune and it shifts alot better. Im going to have the heads worked slightly (polishing, milled .050, 5 angle valve job and backcut) setup for tr's 224 cam, I guess im going to have the underdrivepulleys put on at the same time. Im thinking about either ASM long tubes or thorley try y (not shore if they have some that fit). With the exhaust I'll gut the cats. Eventually I plan on efans also. When all is said and done I hope to get to around 350 rwhp but, I am begining to wonder if its doable? Am I missing anything? what would you guys do?

these numbers where also with stock 17 rims and tires. I could have put on smaller wheels but that just stupid for a number.

I think thats damn impressive for a Z71! I only made 255 rwhp from a 2wd with about the same mods. And the 0-60 is also very impressive for a ex cab (Thats the same time as my truck accelerates!)

The 0-60 doesn't sound right for your mods.

As for your HP you're right on target. I put down 243rwhp with a homemade intake and a magnaflow muffler.

Stock, my truck did 0 - 60 in about 8.5 sec. True I have the 4.8, but I also have the RC without all the Z71 ruggedizations. With the Radix, I now consistently do 0 - 60 in 5.7 sec. You can't tell me a n/a 5.3 is as powerful as a blown 4.8.

(edit) Pre Radix, my truck dynoed 240 rwhp 250 ft-lb torque (had headers, cat-back, e-fans). Post Radix it dynoed 314 rwhp, but I think the dyno was messed up as it appears to be more than that.

Not bad!
My 02 5.3l makes 256WHP [B]If I open the air box, and blow a fan directly into the filter. Otherwise I make 247/285.
285x15's, elec. fans, borla catback, hypertech III, 180 stat. and KN filter via stock intake.

Looking to make 285whp w/ +custom intake, high flow cats and HPT???

BTW What Dyno???
