Default Finally got EDIT!!

WOOHOO!!!!!

Just messed around with some basic stuff like rev limiter, deleting misfire code, shift points, recal speedo, etc last night. Can't wait to start cracking into some deeper programming. Some thoughts/questions:

1) I've been debating on whether or not to delete TM. I think that it's there for a reason, and since we seem to have so much tranny failure in the trucks, I thought it would be a good idea to keep it. Any thoughts?

2) Seems like there are more and more truck guys getting EDIT. Since there are some truck-specific tuning issues and differences from the car program, could we have a sub-section in the Truck Forum for Truck Computer Tuning?

3) Where can I learn more about EDIT and tuning? I guess I'm really looking more for a primer on tuning. Maybe some basic suggestions?

Can't wait to get the 5.7 in....all I'm waiting on now are the Clevite rod and main bearings to come in!

Thanks as always for your guys' help!

Yeah, edit is a great thing. Now they just need to fix the 03 version completely and I'll be happy.

if you want a truck to practice on you can use mine. J/K. Congrats on the purchase. How high can you push up the rev limmiter?

Good luck figuring it out!
I have heard that you should not delete all of the TM.

Congrats.. I picked up 9 tenths after we tuned my Tahoe, will be dyno tuning it soon to try to get some more out of it before the supercharger goes on. If you do not have a shift kit it is not a good idea to remove all of the TM but as long as you have one it will be fine. Good luck.

Mine's at 6500 right now...shifting at 6400 or so. It made ALL the difference in the world!

Also, we added 1* of timing above the torque peak...feels a little stronger now.

I think that I'm going to keep TM for now. I might change that later. All in all, it's MUCH easier to use than I thought it would be. I was very apprehensive about tuning the truck, but now that I can't see how I ever got along without it!

I guess with the cam and valve train you have 6500-7000 is pretty safe.I bet with some tuning a 3000 stall 4.10s with posi that 4.8 would runeasy 13s. Im getting rid of my truck now. I got a 2000 Z28 M6 with some goodies. I think Im going to wait till chevy puts out a reg cab SS or the colorado gets an optional v8 and get a new one in a year or so.
