Default A few questions for ya

1. can anyone tell me how to get the plug harness off of the sensors just below the intake manifold sitting in the block cover.
2. Will my 5.3 heads and cam work in a 408 short block. Is the 408 just a bored and stroked block. I will be running the procharger p1sc on it.
3. Should I get the heads ported and polished while they are off.
4. Will all the accessory drives fit on the new block.

Using 5.3 heads on a 4o8 is a very poor idea. How did you build or buy a 408 without taking CR into consideration? You will undoubtably want 243 or 318's if not custom worked/cast/forged heads. The 5.3 combustion chambers are too small and the heads don't nearly breath as well.

Oh, btw, welcome to performance trucks!

I havent done anything yet. my 5.3 crank busted at the front two cylinders and took out the main cap and the base of the block where the main cap bolts to. Im trying to figure out what I should get to replace it on a budget and not have to worry about it going clunk again.

You can't make a 5.3 into a 408.
