Default A few noob questions???

Hey guys,

I see all the time where people put LS2 valley covers, and timing chains on 5.3 and 6.0 engines.. What is the gain from doing this?

I currently am running a 5.3 with 196k and it wont be real long before i'll be building a supercharged 6.0 to take its place so im trying to learn all i can.

Thanks, Jon

When I did my cam swap, I re-used my valley cover, timing chain, and crank gear because I didn't pull the motor or drop the oil pan, I did change cam gears though because mine was a little worn. The LS2 timing set is stronger than the stock ones that come on our trucks, at least that's what I've been told.
