Red face a few ? on heads and cams for 5.3

Sup guys. I got a 2000 silverado ext. swb with a 5.3
Cai, headers, blowmaster exhaust, electric fans and stalled by a b&m converter
I'm looking to shove a cam in it and while I'm at it another set of stock heads(thanks to some dumbass breaking two exhaust bolts in mine) anyways here's my question.
cam wise I really don't know a good cam as I'm fairly new to the 5.3 (ls1 is my norm) and just want a cam that thumps its *** of but is very powerful? Don't want something to big that will just cause my truck to fall on its face I want a good cam with a good powercurve...

2nd since I got 2 bolts stick in the heads thanks to some dip **** I'm looking to swap for another set of stock heads? Any heads I should go with that may help out as well that are stock? Not looking to spend money on any ported heads till the 6.0 goes in beginning of next year.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

I woudn't be so hard on the dip **** that broke two manafold bolts off in your heads. GM is to blame for using shitty bolts. Two of mine broke off by just driving it. I had to use an easy out and some time and I got them out. Its a pita but a little easier when the truck is jacked up and the tires and inner fenderwells are taken off. As far as cams go im not too sure. Since you want one that thumps pretty hard there are several videos on the internet you could listen to and see which ones sound the way you want. Im sure some people on this site have videos of their trucks and can tell you how their cam performs.

If you're going to put in a 6.0 in 2 months, why do you want to mess with a 5.3? IMO, run the 5.3, get a cam picked out before you drop in the 6.0. Stick the cam in the 6.0, while its on the engine stand. B/c whatever cam you decide on for the 5.3 is probably too small for a 6.0.

But from what I've read on here, a lot of people run a tr220 in their 5.3s. For heads, I'd look around for a good set of used ones that are already ported.
