Currently, I have an open 3.42 rear dif. I can get a factory G80 locker with 3.73's for free (+ install). Would it be safe to use a used gear/locker with less than 20,000 miles on it? I dont wanna put something in that will eventually hurt something somewhere in the drivetrain.
I would buy a new eaton locker, but being a HS student doesnt allow much time to make $$$$. Any input would be great! Also, if anyone knows a great place that installs gears for an affordable price, please let me know!
Thanks in advance!

Since you don't have the cash to buy a bunch of power adders, I think you'd be fine with a factory 3.73 setup. You'll love the extra gearing and having 2 tires with traction.

Well mine hits the 128mph limiter with the 3.73 so it dosen't take too much away. By the way you should also plan on getting your speedo recalibrated for the gear, either with a hypertech or have someone else do it for ya.

Look in my sig up top... I have the Hypertech already. Thanks for mentioning it though!
I think autotech at school can do the install for free. The teacher is very good, and has built/modded tons of cars, so I trust him...I hope it will go good when I get the gears in.
Any more input would be apprechaiated!
thanks,
-Kurt

TTT on where to install the gears... Autotech at my school doesnt want to take the blame if anything messed up due to the install. I know MTI does a great job, but their prices arent that cheap!!
If anyone knows of a place (preferably on the NW side) that is experienced in gear swaps, please reply or PM me!
thanks,
-Kurt
