A friend of mine is getting a higher stall converter to replace the 2600 stall (not sure of the brand) in her T/A. Would it be worth the trouble to swap out the factory truck converter for a 2600? Will it work?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The convertor will fit will your truck. It will probably stall about 2200 rpm in the truck. With the cost of an install in mind you might want to contact the manufacturer of the convertor to see what they charge to restall the convertor before you install it in your truck.

wate a min. i thought it would stall higher than 2600 because the truck is heavier. Also wont it get hotter because it is smaller in diameter. But i have always been under the impression thet f-bod converters in trucks stall higher.

I think it will stall a little less that 2600, more like 2400. This id due to the cars having more torque than the trucks. In that split second when it flashes, more torque will make it flash higher.

When they take the convertor out of the F-body find out who the manufacturer is.Call and find out what they charge for a restall. Some manufacturers will do free restalls for the original owner and others charge about $100.Have your friend sent it back and you pay the charges. That way you won't be dissappointed with the convertor and be out more than one install.
